Was in Lagos, Nigeria. It was a popular department store which existed from the 1950s until around the late 1980s.
This series of puzzles displaying images such as this one have been designed to help improve the lives and wellbeing of people living with dementia by featuring familiar themes from African and Caribbean culture.
Image taken in the 1960's.
This 16-piece puzzle is suitable for people with mid to late-stage dementia.
Each puzzle in this series features black and white images or images with limited colour. Research has found that black and white jigsaws are better for older persons. The black and white images (or minimum colour) reduces unnecessary stimuli increasing the ability to focus and enjoy the image and the puzzle.
The puzzles can help to stimulate conversation.
